The Westshore Marina District is a 52-acre master-planned waterfront neighborhood on Old Tampa Bay at Gandy and Westshore boulevards in South Tampa, about 7 miles by road from downtown Tampa and beside the Gandy Bridge to St. Petersburg. Living in the Westshore Marina District
The district's main entrance on Gandy Boulevard opens onto Bridge Street, a palm-lined avenue that runs through a town-center roundabout to Marina Landings, a cluster of shops, a fitness studio and restaurants. About 1.5 miles of waterfront linear park and trails follow the marina basin and the open bay, with public art along the way. At the western end of West Tyson Avenue, Salt Shack on the Bay is a large open-air seafood restaurant on the water, facing west across Old Tampa Bay toward St. Petersburg.
Boating in the Westshore Marina District
Boating shapes the whole neighborhood. The district's full-service marina sits inside a protected yacht basin with a 15-foot channel and depths of 8 to 12 feet. Its concrete floating docks hold about 159 slips for boats 40 to 90 feet long, plus transient dockage for visitors. The basin opens straight onto Old Tampa Bay, with unrestricted access to the Gulf of Mexico beyond. Next door, Westshore Yacht Club runs its own deep-water marina for members of its private Bay Club.
Homes in the Westshore Marina District and Westshore Yacht Club
The district mixes condominiums, townhomes and rental apartments. Marina Pointe, on a gated peninsula overlooking the marina, is planned for three condominium towers. The first is complete, and Luna, a 17-story second tower with 151 residences, is in pre-construction sales. WCI and Lennar built the townhomes, and the apartment communities include Town Westshore and Bainbridge at Westshore Marina District.
Westshore Yacht Club is a separate gated community with brick-paved streets lined with oaks. Its private Bay Club offers members the marina, restaurants, a tiki bar, a spa, a fitness center and a pool. Its newest building, Aqua, is a 17-story tower of 77 condominium residences with a rooftop pool, and it opened in June 2026 on the community's last developable parcel. Inland, the Sun Bay South streets reach east toward Dale Mabry Highway.
Getting around from the Westshore Marina District
Gandy Boulevard (US 92) runs along the northern edge. It carries traffic west over the Gandy Bridge to downtown St. Petersburg, about 10 miles away, and the Selmon Expressway starts at Gandy Boulevard and reaches downtown Tampa in about 7 miles. Westshore Boulevard runs north toward the Westshore business district. For a beach day, Picnic Island Park in Port Tampa City, about 3 miles south, has a sand beach, a gated dog beach, a fishing pier and a 24-hour boat ramp.
