Land O' Lakes is an unincorporated community in central Pasco County, about 20 to 25 miles north of downtown Tampa. US 41 (Land O' Lakes Boulevard) is its main north-south road, State Roads 52 and 54 cross it east to west, and the Suncoast Parkway runs along its western side. It is defined by its many lakes, large public preserves such as the 3,486-acre Conner Preserve, and a mix of older lakefront neighborhoods and newer master-planned communities.
Living in Land O' Lakes
The community took the name Land O' Lakes in 1950 and took in older settlements such as Denham, Ehren and Gowers Corner. US 41 is still its main street. The Land O' Lakes Branch Library is on Collier Parkway. Land O' Lakes Heritage Park, a 16-acre county park on Land O' Lakes Boulevard, has a playground, athletic fields, an amphitheater, a community garden and a community center.
Angeline, a 6,200-acre community south of State Road 52, is also home to Moffitt Cancer Center's 775-acre Speros campus. Its 120,000-square-foot outpatient center began seeing patients in January 2026. For larger shopping trips, The Shops at Wiregrass in Wesley Chapel and Tampa Premium Outlets in Lutz are within about 10 miles to the east by State Roads 54 and 56.
Parks, preserves and golf in Land O' Lakes
Conner Preserve is on State Road 52, about 3.5 miles east of US 41. The Southwest Florida Water Management District manages its 3,486 acres of sandhill, marsh and pine flatwoods. The preserve has about 17 miles of hiking trails, with about 15 miles open to bicycles and about 6 miles to horseback riding (equestrian parking is by day-use reservation). It also has a 25-acre model airplane field, and it is open from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset.
To the west, the paved Suncoast Trail runs beside the Suncoast Parkway from Lutz-Lake Fern Road north to State Road 44. A bike connection links it to Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park near New Port Richey.
Plantation Palms Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course designed by David Harman and built in 2000 on a former citrus grove. Water comes into play on 17 of its 18 holes, and there is a lighted driving range.
Homes in Land O' Lakes
Homes range from established lakefront neighborhoods to new construction. Lake Padgett Estates is a waterfront and equestrian community dating to the early 1970s. It sits inside an independent special district that maintains five lakefront parks, three boat ramps and horse stables for the community's own use. Plantation Palms is built around its golf course. Newer master-planned communities include Connerton off US 41, Bexley off State Road 54, and Angeline south of State Road 52.
Some newer Pasco County communities are financed through community development districts (CDDs). The Pasco County Tax Collector collects CDD assessments on the annual property tax bill, so it is worth checking a home's tax record for a CDD line.
Getting around
US 41 runs south through Lutz toward Tampa, and State Roads 52 and 54 run east to I-75. The Suncoast Parkway, a toll road, leads south to the Veterans Expressway and Tampa International Airport, about 25 miles away.
