Golfview is a South Tampa neighborhood inside the city of Tampa that wraps around the Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club, about 3 miles southwest of downtown Tampa. The city bounds it by Swann and Morrison avenues on the north, Clearview Avenue on the west, San Miguel Street on the south, and MacDill and Lincoln avenues on the east, just east of Dale Mabry Highway. Its oak-shaded streets were first developed in the 1920s.
Palma Ceia Golf & Country Club
The club was founded in 1916 as the first private club in Tampa, and Tom Bendelow laid out its course that year. In 1923 the club hired Donald Ross, who re-routed the holes and added bunkers while keeping most of the original corridors. A 2009 renovation by Bobby Weed restored many of Ross's features. The course covers about 82 acres. It hosted the professional Gasparilla Open from 1932 to 1935, and since 1956 it has been home to the Gasparilla Invitational, an amateur tournament. Membership is private, so the course is not open for public play.

Golfview's winding brick streets are shaded by mature oaks. The City of Tampa spells the name Golfview, while listings and maps also use Golf View and Golf View Estates for the same area. The neighborhood is in ZIP codes 33609 and 33629. The Palma Ceia Design District's boutiques and cafes are about half a mile south along MacDill Avenue. Parkland Estates sits directly east across Lincoln Avenue, and SoHo's restaurants and bars on South Howard Avenue are about a mile east. Hyde Park Village is about 1.5 miles east along Swann Avenue, and Bayshore Boulevard's waterfront sidewalk is about 1.5 miles southeast.
Homes in Golfview
Golfview mixes established homes, some dating to the neighborhood's 1920s beginnings, with newer custom construction, along with some condominiums and townhomes. Lots on the perimeter of the course have views across the greens. Swann Avenue forms most of the northern edge, with Kennedy Boulevard about half a mile beyond it. Dale Mabry Highway, just west of Clearview Avenue, leads north to Westshore and Tampa International Airport, about 5 miles away. Swann Avenue runs east to Hyde Park and downtown Tampa.
